What I Learned From A Better Business Bureau Resume Writing Group

What I Learned From A Better Business Bureau Resume Writing GroupIf you are wondering if you should join a Better Business Bureau resumes writing group, then I am glad to tell you that you are not alone. I also belong to the same group and I have two young children, so, naturally, I was concerned about how my resume would look when I placed it in the pile of resumes they were to be looked at for submissions.First of all, I was worried about the way I wrote the information I needed to in order to make my resume impressive enough to stand out from the rest. It seems the only thing I could write about that would make me feel confident enough to send it in was the simple fact that I had my first year in the military behind me. The letter of recommendation from my supervisors, even though I didn't need it, made me feel good about my service. After this I wondered if the letter of recommendation would be enough for the employer to see that I was trustworthy and had the right info to be hire d. It was difficult for me to find this trust, when I did not know what to write about, or the right information to be included in my resume. I felt as if I was unsure of myself. So, I researched a little and found several tips for those looking to find previous employees that were less than honest. I read several stories about how an employee would lie about their past on their resume, and I realized that I was not going to be the one who found out about the person doing this. I went online to find a site that was able to list the worst employers. I sent my resume to the Better Business Bureau, and while they have a form where you can have your information submitted, I did not feel confident enough to leave it that long without any feedback.Luckily, there is an option on the Better Business Bureau's website where you can fill out a form requesting feedback on your past employer. Then, within days, the employer is informed that their past history will be reviewed and the feedback giv en. This was the best answer I could have hoped for. While I received the information I needed, I still took extra care with my past employment and I saved myself from having to deal with the stress of being called in for an interview. I still look back on my job search with fondness, but what I gained from it, has definitely helped me later on.After returning from my 'job search' in the spring of 2020, I discovered that several of the new job openings were filled by people with good resumes and great experience. I learned about the mistakes that other people had made and used what I learned to help my own resume be as impressive as possible. This was a great decision to take, and I learned a lot about what can be so important, about a simple checklist of things to include in your resume. So, go ahead and add yourself to the Better Business Bureau resume writing group, there are other people in the same boat as you. Give it a try and get feedback to help you improve your job search, t oday!
